This year’s cross-country cycling event, the Lemurian Classic 2020, is going digital. The race will take place over 15 days in mid-October.
Entrants will choose a time and date to cycle the course when they register. They must e-mail their intent before going to the course. After the ride, their time will be recorded on the leader board on the Lemurian Classic website.
Five cross-country courses are available. There will be the long and intermediate courses, which have an $80 entrance fee, a short cross-country course with a $45 fee, a junior intermediate for cyclists from 14 to 17 years of age for $40, and a junior short course for riders from the ages of 10 to 17 for $20. The courses will be marked with colored arrows indicating the three available adult races.
Unlimited pre-rides will be available and the first one will be free.
Participants will receive free Promotional Products, including a Lemurian Classic t-shirt and 2020 Lemurian Classic stickers. They will also receive vouchers for Burrito Bandito’s and Fall River Brewing. All registrants will also be included in a chance to win the ‘Schwag giveaway’, with prizes worth over $4000.
A virtual awards ceremony will take place on October 26th.
The racing will take place at Swasey Recreation Area on Delano Drive in Redding from October 10th to October 25th.
