The community of Redding will soon be coming together to celebrate the 10th year of its Whole Earth and Watershed Festival. This will be a day of fun, hands-on activities, giveaways, performances, artists, and live music.
More than 115 exhibitors will be presenting information promoting nutritional education, active lifestyles, health awareness, natural resources and sustainable products, ideas on conservation, renewable energy, and environmental concerns.
New this year will be a renewable energy demonstration by T.H. Culhane, who will be constructing a biodigester during the event after a presentation.
There will be a Meet and Greet Your Local Elected Officials. Some topics to be discussed will be the prolonged drought, resource conservation, and climate change. District 3 Supervisor Pam Biacomini and Councilwoman Francie Sullivan will be attending.
As has been the tradition at the festival, there will be a 5k community run/walk with proceeds going to local nonprofits, and a Shasta Growers Farmers’ Market.
The Miracle Mile Stage will be presenting local talented songwriters and singers. The Community Stage will feature local student musicians, school groups, and student artists. Other interests will be the Guarded Bike Corral, A Children’s Zone, and the Friends of the Coleman Fish Hatchery booth.
Everyone will want to mark their Calendars for Saturday, April 23. The event will run from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm at Sculpture Park and Redding City Hall.
