The Redding Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 10th Annual Redding-Walk–To-End-Alzheimer’s in late September. The goal for the year is to raise $115,000.
This year the event will be an interactive online venture and the organizers encourage participants to walk two miles in small groups on neighborhood sidewalks, trails and tracks. In lieu of the usual Promise Garden flowers, walkers will get colorful Walk Flags to carry with them or place in windows or yards.
Although there will be no fee to register, walkers need to commit to fundraising. Participants will want to upload a current photo to their fundraising pages. Those raising $100 or more will receive T-Shirts sporting the event’s graphic design.
Participants are invited to a virtual live stream opening ceremony and registration taking place at the Promise Garden at Redding Civic Auditorium at 700 Auditorium Drive. To do this, walkers must log in to Walk Mainstage on Saturday, September 26 to register from 8:00 am until 9:00 am. The opening ceremony will begin at 9:00 am. After the ceremony ends at 9:30 am, walkers will have until noon to complete their community fundraising walk.
Teams that sign up for events like this often wear colorful matching T-Shirts with the group’s Logo Design on either the fronts or backs.
The planted Promise Garden at the Redding Civic Auditorium at Turtle Bay will be open for people to enjoy from their cars.
