The local Exchange Club is inviting all Redding plane enthusiasts to attend its upcoming Redding Air Show 2014.
This is the 23rd year the show will be held. The Canadian forces Snowbirds, a vintage T-3 fighter jet, and a Canadian forces R-18 jet will among be the highlights of the show.
Other planes performing will include a P-38 Lightning, a Nay F-6 Hellcat, a B-25 Bomber, and a Japanese Zero on the first day. A Vintage AT-6 Texan Marine trainer, a T-3 Smokin’ Mentor, and an Extra 300 will wow crowds on the second day. The event will feature both flybys and tactical demonstrations.
General admission tickets buyers are advised to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Flight deck tickets include admission to the event, free food inside a large tent, access to the display areas, and tables, chairs, and bleachers. Visitors will be encouraged to take pictures and videos of the static (non-flying) aircraft on display along with the crew members; they should make good photo ops for later poster printing.
The show will be held rain or shine September 27-28 at the Redding Municipal Airport. All performers have routines that compensate for varying degrees of weather. Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary to accommodate any heavy rainfall. Each day activities will begin at 8:00 am and end at 5:00 pm. The opening ceremony will start between 11:30 am and midday.
