Student leadership development opportunity

Umoja’s 2nd Annual Student Leadership Summit is scheduled this summer and will be held at the University of California’s Merced campus.

Five students will be invited to attend the summit from the Umoja Program, along with one advisor accompanying them. The event is designed to help African American students learn how to move forward through education and community contributions. Through the program, leadership training will be based on a core of culture and history.

Student leaders will be featured in Umoja events and training throughout the upcoming year. In total, 300 student leaders will comprise the program and assist in making an impact on the system of achievement.

Conferences and summits often utilize local services such as brochure printing to promote the activities. Graphic design used for the Brochures highlight the program benefits, agendas, speakers and other pertinent information. The Brochures can be distributed in various manners to spread the word and develop interest about the event.

Registration is free, and lodging and meals will be included. For those coming from out of town, Mariposa and Tuolumne hall dorm rooms will be available with a maximum of three students per room. Attire is casual, as students are encouraged to be comfortable.

The leadership summit will begin August 1 at noon and conclude on August 3 at 3:00 pm at the University of California, Merced on North Lake Road.
