The 39th annual Wing Ding Festival is taking place in Merced next month for three days. It is a presentation of the Central California Square Dance Association.
The festival is for everyone who enjoys square dancing and wants to improve their dancing skills. Some of the top callers in the country will be attending including Dan Nordby, Michael Kellogg and Scott Bennett.
There will be three halls hosting dance in mainstream, plus, advanced and rounds. A warm-up dance is taking place on the first day from 2:00 to 4:30; admission is free to registered participants.
There will also be several workshops and a mainstream dance to end the event. Vendors will also be on hand to sell dance-related products or to promote their studios.
Ticket prices for adults are $50 for three days or $25 for youth, $40 for all-day Saturday, $25 for Saturday night and $25 for Friday night. Tickets prices are raised $5 at the door.
For those traveling to the event, RV parking is $30.
