Merced to host child seat safety event

Next month, the WIC Rapid Enrollment and Child Passenger Safety Seat Check-up event will be held in Merced.

Throughout this five-hour event, certified California Highway Patrol Technicians will inspect participant’s child car seats and make any necessary fixes or suggestions for improving safety.

The enrollment and inspection event is available by appointment only. Anyone local to Merced who is interested in attending can book a 30-minute timeslot online. New members will receive WIC benefits and a goody bag for their enrollment. The hosts of related in-person events often turn to poster printing as an effective solution for creating printouts that showcase vital details in full-color imagery and large, bold text descriptions.

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a program that focuses on educating clients on proper nutrition for infants, children, and breastfeeding or pregnant women. Services that WIC offers include nutrition classes and individual counseling, reminders to keep up to date with immunizations, updates on current health information, helping families get health insurance, find suitable dentists and doctors, monetary support for families to purchase food from the local Farmers’ Market, and recommendations for other local programs that provide services for families.

The WIC Rapid Enrollment and Child Passenger Safety Seat Check-up event is scheduled to take place from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 10.
