Merced seminar offers to "train the trainers"

An upcoming seminar at the Merced College Business Research Center is looking to address this problem of it sometimes being harder to teach someone to do something than to be able to do it for oneself.

The two-day seminar, titled ‘Train the Trainers’ and hosted by the Emerging Leaders Institute, looks to develop leadership and teaching skills in businesses of all kinds.

‘Train the Trainers’ will be an overnight seminar running from the morning of June 4 to the afternoon of June 5, with hotel accommodations provided by the Merced Courtyard Marriott. In the words of course leader Terry Plett, the training is designed for "high potential employees and new managers" and will "be interactive and will include hands on experiential learning activities."

In addition to the education, in-depth seminars such as this can be a valuable opportunity to network with people from a wide variety of businesses. Attendees may be wise to be fully-stocked with Business Cards and promotional Pens.

The event is hosted by the Central Mother Lode Regional Consortium, an organization created by community colleges and government agencies in Central California to develop a skilled workforce that meets the need of local businesses. Merced College is among the member organizations, and students who register in time will be able to attend the seminar free of charge.
