Merced Power Sports will be holding a fundraising event in April to benefit the Merced County Blue Star Moms.
The Veterans Memorial - Support the Troops Ride is a group activity where motorcyclists can come together to pay respects to fallen soldiers. The event is organized by the Merced American Legion Riders and Merced County Blue Star Moms. Attendees will begin the ride at Merced Power Sports and finish at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella. Coffee and doughnuts will be offered to the motorcyclists before the ride starts. Attendees are asked to bring care package donations to the event for the troops who are still stationed overseas.
The Merced County Blue Star Moms is an organization consisting of mothers and fathers whose children have served in the military. The group collects donations for care packages to send to soldiers and holds monthly meetings. People can send the organization items such as deodorant, toothpaste, snacks, and razors. The group also accepts drawings from kids, cards of encouragement, and personal thank you notes for the packages.
The motorcycle ride will be held on Saturday, April 9. People can check-in for the event at 9:00 am. There are no entry fees to partake in the group ride. Organizations that put together charitable gatherings like this can use poster printing to raise awareness for the event.
