Merced organization to throw fundraising ball

The Merced County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will hold a special event at Vista Ranch.

The Mayor's Ball is a program that celebrates the current mayor of Merced while supporting local organizations. The gala will honor Mayor Matt Serrato's contributions to the city and will include dinner and music entertainment. Businesses can become sponsors to get benefits like logo recognition in the ball's program, verbal acknowledgment during the gala, and a mention on social media before and after the event. The packages cost between $1,500 and $7,000.

The two organizations that will benefit from the Mayor's Ball are Sacred Rok and Club 67. Sacred Rok is a group that provides informative and healing wilderness trips to children in need. The programs offered by the organization teach youths to respect nature and provide them with mentors. Club 67 provides an inclusive place where people with special needs can expand their social circles. The venue hosts monthly events and offers activities like group dance parties.

The ball will be on Friday, August 25 and will begin at 6:00 pm. Tickets to the Mayor's gala can be bought for $150, though people can get discounts if they purchase the tickets before August 1.
