After a successful first installment, the Downtown Merced Santa Stumble will be returning for a second year, combining the traditional pub crawl with holiday cheer.
The event will take participants throughout various bars, venues and restaurants in downtown Merced, with food and drinks provided at each stop. Attendees will receive discounts and vouchers for their choice of fare. Participants are encouraged to dress as Santa Claus, an elf, or other holiday characters to help spread the festive spirit.
The inaugural edition included a “special present” for the best-dressed attendee, and took visitors through a DJ show at Joystiq bar and arcade, a group photo shoot, and local establishments like The Partisan, O’Reilly’s Tavern, and Vinhos Lounge. Restaurants like Little Oven Merced and Pretty Good Burgers provided discounted food for drop-in visitors throughout the night.
This year, The Santa Stumble will look to return for a bigger and better second edition. The event will also be offering free tickets for buyers with birthdays in December. Bar and other “crawl” events like this have become a popular way to showcase local businesses, and are often promoted via methods such as flyer printing and social media posts.
The 2024 Downtown Merced Santa Stumble will take place on the evening of Saturday, December 14. Participants are encouraged to arrange for a designated driver or transportation home.
