Merced’s annual California Republic Comic Con returns for its fifth anniversary next month. Local residents are invited to attend the one-day event with their family and friends.
Organized by Colossus Girl Entertainment LLC, this local event celebrates the best of pop culture on a smaller, more affordable scale. The festival will include comic Books, local artists, toys and games, anime, fantasy, and science fiction, music and live entertainment, video games, and cosplay. There will be plenty of shopping opportunities with local food and merchandise vendors.
Special guest stars and expert panelists will include actors Tom Sizemore and Cesar Garcia, actress Patricia Summerland, and comic book writers Luis Rivera, Tobe Daranouvong, and Chris Marrinan. Creators scheduled to appear include Panda Dough, Katsudon, and Tc7art.
Exhibits will be presented by Ink Drop Press, Art by Lawrence Washington, Kamikaze Apparels, and Jim and Melody Rondeau. Additional vendor applications are still being accepted for this event. Tables cost $70 to $90 depending on the size selected. All merchandise sold at the event must be authentic. Vendors may choose to distribute complimentary Promotional Products at the festival.
The 2021 California Republic Comic Con will be held on Saturday, September 18 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the Merced County Fairgrounds, located at 900 Martin Luther King Junior Way. Tickets may be purchased in advance from the Eventbrite website, for $10 for general admission, or $35 for a family pack of four tickets. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free of charge with a paying adult.
