The Atwater 4th of July celebration is taking place on Independence Day itself. Set to feature a parade, a food and crafts fair, and a fireworks spectacular, active guests can also take part in a marathon.
The Run for Independence will take place at 7:30 AM. Hosted by the Merced Running Club and the Buhach Colony HS Cross Country Team, it consists of a two-mile or a five-mile run. Fees are $20 for those aged 18 and younger and $25 for Park adults. It will be followed by an awards presentation.
The parade will begin at 9:00 AM and travel down Winton Way, Broadway and 3rd Street to Ralston Park. This year's theme is "Atwater Pride - City Wide." It will feature floats, marching bands, cars, and horses. The deadline to sign up to participate in the parade is June 29, and fees are $35.
The food and crafts fair will feature many vendors selling their unique products. The day will end with a fireworks display and a concert by The Shakers and Crosseyed.
No doubt people from nearby Merced will be participating in the celebrations. To spread the word of such events, local Print shops often provide printed advertising.
