The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be holding a toy drive in December at the Starbucks in Merced.
The Santa Day Toy Drive is a seasonal program where people can bring joy to children in the community by donating gifts. Attendees are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys to the event. Those who donate a gift will be given a raffle ticket to win prizes such as holiday Apparel, coffee, and candy. The experience will also include free kid-friendly crafting activities and hot chocolate. Guests can also take festive pictures with Santa Claus during the toy drive.
The CHP Merced Area is an organization that patrols State Route 99 from the Stanislaus County line to the Madera County line. The group has many programs for children and teens, including Impact Teen Drivers, Meet Chipper, and Right Turn. Other programs offered by the organization include Age Well Drive Smart and the Asian Pacific Islander Program. The group’s office is home to the Merced Communications Center.
The toy drive will take place on Saturday, December 10th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Those who want more information about the event may contact Officer Eric Zuniga by calling (209) 356-6608.
