Fundraisers help local museum

There are two fund-raisers coming up that will help ensure the continuation of a Merced museum.

The Castle Air Museum features over 75 air crafts, historic and current. It is not funded by any government and depends on the public to support them, which is why events like these are vital.

The first event is a dinner fundraiser in September. Funds will be used to purchase an F-4S 15539 airplane. Guests will have a choice of two entrees; prime rib or chicken. The dinner will also feature guest speaker Randy "Duke" Cunningham. It will also have a dessert auction and a no-host bar. Tickets are $65 each.

The next fundraiser will be a charity golf tournament. Fees are $95 for men and $60 for ladies. There will be a charity raffle and hole in one and tee prizes which will be handed out during the day. Sponsorships are available for purchase from $100 up to $480.

To help spread the word about fundraising events, Merced Stationery printers often provide Flyers and Brochures to organizers.

The dinner will be held at Elk Lodge Merced #1240 on September 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. For more information, call 209-723-2178 x305.

The golf tournament will take place at the Rancho Del Rey Golf Course on October 31 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Contact Ed Walters at 209-968-6132.
