The 2nd annual Motown Fry Fest is taking place in nearby Modesto.
The festival was originally supposed to take place in April but was rescheduled until early October.
The main draw of the festival is to choose the best fries in the area. There will be an Epic Fry Battle and the public will be able to vote on their favorite. The fries will be provided by several local chefs from restaurants such as On the Fry and Ches Urban Eats. Guests can purchase $5 tasting tickets. Beer and cider will also be available for purchase.
The festival will also feature live music from bands such as The Wet Bandidos, Bangarang and Western Bound. Children can enjoy the Fry Fest Kids' Zone which will feature face painting, bounce houses, crafts and other fun activities such as Python Ron's Reptile Kingdom and appearances by princesses and super heroes.
In addition, vendors will be on hand to sell arts and crafts and other merchandise.
VIP tickets can be purchased for $25 and include early access and a private bar station.
No doubt people from all over, including here in Merced, will be interested in attending this event. To spread the word, local flyer printing firms often provide advertising.
The festival will be hed at Graceada Park in Modesto on October 3 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. General admission tickets are $15. Visit the website to learn more.
