Dirt racing series to visit Merced

The World of Outlaws racing series will hold a competition in Merced at the Merced Speedway in September.

The World of Outlaws Federated Auto Parts Yosemite Showdown is a racing event where fans can watch experienced drivers compete for a $12,000 cash prize. The competition has many divisions, such as DIRTcar Stock Car, DIRTcar 410 Sprint, and DIRTcar Big Block Modified. The race will take place on a semi-banked track. Audience members can sit at a covered grandstand. Alcohol can be bought from the Merced Speedway, and no coolers are allowed at the venue.

The World of Outlaws is a dirt racing experience that is comprised of two series, including the NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and the CASE Construction Equipment Late Model Series. Many drivers participate in the competitions, such as Bill Rose, Landon Crawley, and Kraig Kinser. The traveling race experience has held events at venues like the Beaver Dam Raceway, Kennedale Speedway Park, and Paducah International Raceway.

The showdown will be on Saturday, September 14th. The pit gates will open at 2:00 pm, and the grandstand gates will open at 5:00 pm. General admission for adults can be bought for $45, and tickets for children will cost $10. There is no cost to park at the Merced Speedway.
