Annual summer fair returns to Planada

The Planada Peddlers’ Fair returns to Merced County next month. Residents from throughout the area – including the cities of Atwater, Le Grand, Snelling and Merced – are welcome to attend.

Organized by Planada in Action, the market will include wall art and sculpture from local artists, as well as original jewelry from California jewelry designers. Handmade crafts for home and garden décor will be sold. Antiques and collectibles from reputable local vendors will be available as well. Local farmers will be on site with fresh produce, and homemade jams and pies. While shopping, patrons will enjoy live music, and can snack on food from their choice of food trucks.

Vendors and small business owners are still needed for this event. Booths are available for rent for $10, as an early registration special available until June 21. The regular booth rental cost is $25, after June 22. Retailers may sell their merchandise at the market, and may also choose to distribute Promotional Products and Brochures. Merchants should contact Brian for more information by calling 209-233-4825 or emailing bpena209@gmail.com.

The event is held each year at Houlihan Park. In 2020, the Planada community was awarded a $2.4m grant from the California Statewide Park Program. The park will be upgraded with an outdoor stage, exercise stations, jogging paths, and a children’s splash pad.

The 2021 Planada Peddlers’ Fair will be held on Saturday, July 10, at Houlihan Park, located at the corner of Stanford Avenue and Sutter Street in Planada.
