City Council voted in favour of the new contract at a meeting on August 12.
Srivatsa rose to the top of the list of candidates following a nation-wide search. She has been the interim City Manager in Lafayette since January, 2019. Her tenure in the permanent role will begin immediately.
Srivatsa has a long history in Lafayette. For almost two decades she has been the city’s Director of Building and Planning Services. Before that, she was the Planning Director and Community Development Director.
Her role made her a key figure during local emergencies, especially when Lafayette flooded in 1998. Furthermore, Srivatsa was instrumental in carrying out a $15 million capital improvement plan for Lafayette in the 1990s.
Lafayette Mayor Mike Anderson, in a news release on the city’s website, was quoted:
“We are fortunate to have such a well-known and trusted friend available to take on the responsibilities of this critical position.”
Her work in civic administration dates back to the 1980s, when she was Associate Planner and Chief City Planner in Naperville, Illinois.
New people moving into important roles such as this one call for printing services, as Business Cards and Letterheads are most certainly required.
Srivatsa replaces Steven Falk, who was the City Manager in Lafayette since 1996, and retired at the end of 2018.
