Lafayette is hosting its third annual Community Day this June.
The event will include food, entertainment and volunteer opportunities. The Community Foundation of Lafayette, the city government and the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce are partnering to provide this opportunity for residents to contribute to meaningful volunteer projects in a fun setting.
The day will start with check-in and a breakfast spread of coffee, pastries and juice at 8:00 am. Volunteer projects will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Most sites are located within a short walk of Lafayette Plaza. Live music, games and other activities will take place starting at 11:00 am. All The Smoke BBQ is providing lunch for all registered participants, which will be served at a community table starting at 11:30 am. Local nonprofits will have tables set up after lunch. Nonprofits often use brochure printing services to provide information about their programs at this type of event.
Those planning to participate need to register and sign a waiver by Friday, May 24th. While signing up, volunteers can choose which organization and specific project they would look to work on. Free parking will be available until 3:00 pm in the municipal lots located by Golden Gate Parkway.
The Third Annual Lafayette Community Day will take place on Saturday, June 1 from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm in Lafayette Plaza.
