Lafayette residents will have the opportunity to celebrate the holiday season at It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette this December.
The event will include food, drinks, train rides, festive lights and a visit from Santa. With support from the Lafayette Historical Society, Santa will ride the town’s first fire truck, which is called Old Betsy. Santa and his elves will travel along Golden Gate Way from Lafayette Library to Lafayette Plaza Park, starting at 5:00 pm. Children and teens from several local music organizations will perform holiday songs throughout the event. Boy Scout Troop 204 will be selling wreaths, and the Rotary Club of Lamorinda Sunrise will serve free hot chocolate.
The event is free to attend. Several local restaurants will offer both snacks and dinner for purchase, including Lola’s Sweet Treats and Halal Bites of Chicago. The Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring two bars, which will feature a selection of local beers, ciders and sodas. A tree-lighting ceremony will highlight Lafayette’s new energy-efficient holiday lights.
