Lafayette is hosting its 74th Citizen of the Year celebration this April.
The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce recognizes a resident who has made exceptional contributions to the community and shown excellent character and leadership each year. The 2025 Citizen of the Year is Ann Appert. Appert has supported Lafayette in a variety of ways throughout her life. She served on the Elementary School District Board for eight years and fundraised for the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. Professionally, she worked for WestEd, an education consulting company, and was the Director of Operations for its Assessment Division before she retired in 2020. She continues to serve on multiple boards and bakes custom birthday cakes for local foster kids.
The event will start with a reception followed by a sit-down dinner at 7 pm. Those planning to attend should purchase tickets on the Chamber website as soon as possible as space is limited. Tickets are $105 each. Dinner includes a salad, a choice of chicken, salmon or a vegetable tart and a chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Attendees with dietary restrictions should list these during registration along with any seating preferences. Organizations often work with Stationery printers to create programs for awards dinners.
The Lafayette Citizen of the Year dinner will be on Thursday, April 10 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Lafayette Park Hotel and Spa.
