Lafayette nonprofit to host summer fair series

All Ages Recreation Downtown’s 14 Summer Sundays event series is continuing through July and August in Lafayette.

The Art Market in the Parklet events feature local artists, food vendors, and other activities. There will be lawn games, line dancing, crafts, and dance lessons, and ice cream or cookie vendors will be selling treats each Sunday. Vendors often use banner printing services to promote their businesses at such community events.

The art markets are free to attend. Artists, vendors and dance instructors interested in participating can apply on the All Ages Recreation Downtown website. The vendor fee for artists is $25, and there is no fee for food sellers. Dance teachers are asked to donate 45 minutes of their time. Vendors or instructors can apply for individual dates or the rest of the series.

Donations and sponsorships for the events will help fund All Ages Recreation Downtown, a local nonprofit that supports Lafayette’s parks. The group believes in the importance of free recreational spaces that offer activities for all ages, especially in densely populated areas. Sponsors include the Community Foundation of Lafayette, Lafayette Juniors, and the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.

The Summer Sundays series started on May 18 and will continue through August 17 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at 1st Street and Golden Gate Way in downtown Lafayette.
