Picks, mallets and crackers will replace knives, spoons and forks at the upcoming Crab Feed Fundraiser in Lafayette.
The culinary event is raising money for the Sentinels of Freedom, a charity that helps men and women of the American Armed Forces who have been severely injured.
The group has a scholarship program that helps recipients for between two and four years. Veterans can access housing subsidies, help finding work, and financial planning and coaching. Proceeds from the crab dinner will go to this program.
Live music will be from a band called Los Gringos that plays a mix of rock country and blues. The band is part of Operation Encore, a group that helps veterans who are also musicians to showcase their talents.
Tickets are $70, now that discounted early bird tickets have already sold out. Attendees will be treated to a menu of cheese and cold cuts, seven-layer salad, fresh bread donated from a local bakery, pasta and cracked marinated crab, and fresh plain crab – plus dessert and one non-alcoholic beverage. Wine will also be available for purchase.
Charity fundraisers such as these can use Print shops to provide professional Menus and brochure printing to raise awareness of a charity's mission.
The Crab Feed Fundraiser supporting the Sentinels of Freedom takes place Saturday, January 4 at 5:30 pm to 11:30 pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1035 Carol Lane in Lafayette.
