Lafayette area riding center to host community day

Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center is hosting a festival and open house event this summer.

During the Neighborhood Day, the center invites everyone in the community to visit the facility and enjoy some entertainment. The event will include food trucks, games, line dancing, crafts, and raffles. Attendees can also meet some of the therapy horses and clients and watch riding demonstrations.

The event is free to attend and appropriate for all ages. Businesses interested in sponsorships can contact Xenophon to discuss options. Parking will be available at multiple offsite lots that are within walking distance of the event. Most vendors will accept credit cards, but cash and Venmo are preferred. For the safety of the horses, pets are not permitted. Horse rides will not be available, but attendees interested in riding therapy can learn more about the center’s programs. Representatives often have Business Cards available for those interested in receiving the organization’s services.

Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center offers physical and occupational therapy for children ages two to 18 with a diagnosed disability. Riding therapy can improve balance, coordination, mobility, and communication skills. The service is open to anyone in the East Bay region who qualifies, including residents of Lafayette and other neighboring towns.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 9, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm.
