Holiday festival to return to Lafayette Plaza

The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual “It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette” holiday celebration next month.

The event is kid-friendly and free to attend. It will begin with a short parade. Santa will walk from the Lafayette Historical Society to Lafayette Plaza between 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm. Activities throughout the evening will include photos with Santa and other characters, music and dance performances and rides on the Lafayette Express Train. Attendees can get their train tickets outside of Park Theater and their Santa photo op passes near the Old Betsy photo area. A tree lighting ceremony will take place at 5:30 pm. Performances will feature local school choirs and dance companies. The full entertainment schedule is available on the Chamber’s website.

Free hot chocolate will be served, and a no-host bar stocked by Headlands Brewing Company, Canyon Club Brewery and Coca-Cola will be open throughout the event. Round Table Pizza and Sideboard Lafayette will also have food for sale. Branagh Development and the Dana Green Team are partnering with the City of Lafayette to sponsor the eco-friendly lights that will be decorating the downtown area. Sponsors often give out Promotional Products at community events.

It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette will take place on Sunday, December 8 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Lafayette Plaza.
