The Women of Color: Game Changers in Philanthropy, Politics and Technology celebration will take place next month, and is a presentation of the LeaderSpring Center.
The event will be honoring women of color who have accomplished notably in their communities and in business. The five who will be honored include representatives of such groups as Democracy in Color, the Groundswell Fun, Black Lives Matter, Justice Funders, and Code 2040. The awards will include talks from a number of key speakers.
It will start off with a VIP reception where guests will likely have an opportunity to meet and talk to the honorees. This will be followed by a program.
The celebration will also be announcing the launch of the Women of Color Leadstrong Fellowship. Fellows sign up for two years and are placed in certain nonprofit organizations in Contra Costa County. They also attend retreats, seminars, and receive mentoring from more established women.
Those planning to attend this event from all over Contra Costa County, including nearby Lafayette, will most likely be bringing their Business Cards. There will be many chances to exchange cards with peers.
