One of the most versatile singer/actors working today is on the way to Hollywood.
Hugh Jackman has been thrilling audiences for years with his portrayal of Wolverine in ten of the “X-Men” films, part of the Marvel universe. People who know Jackman only as this character, or from other roles such as Van Helsing in the film of that name, or Bunnymund in “Rise of the Guardians,” may be surprised to find out that he is a gifted vocalist.
His stage roles include Gaston in “Beauty and the Beast” in Australia; Curly McLain in “Oklahoma!” in London’s West End; and Peter Allen in “The Boy from Oz,” Denny in “A Steady Rain,” and Harold Hill in “The Music Man,” all on Broadway. Jackman was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Actor, for his as Jean Valjean in “Les Misérables.” The role also won him a Golden Globe and a nomination from the Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA. He was also nominated for his role as B.T. Barnum in “The Greatest Showman.”
Jackman will be performing songs from some of these roles, accompanied by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and members of the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles. All proceeds from this concert will benefit the community and learning programs of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Bowl’s opening night concert, which includes fireworks, is set for June 7. Using poster printing, organizers can create exciting advertising for events like this.
