Noted comedian to perform in Hollywood

A comedian who has been named as an artist to watch is set to perform in Hollywood.

Michelle Buteau is a native of New Jersey who attended Florida International University, where she studied television production with the hope of launching a career as an entertainment reporter. She moved to New York City, where she produced local TV news. However, her co-workers, finding her funny, encouraged her to try standup. Buteau performed for the first time three days after September 11, 2001.

She spent five years doing standup, and then landed a role on Comedy Central, and in 2017, Esquire named her “one of ten comedians to watch.” She won more praise from Time Magazine said that “Late Night Whenever!” was “one of the best podcasts of 2018 so far.” Buteau also appeared on Netflix on “The Comedy Lineup.”

Buteau has gone on to work in film and television, appearing in movies including “Sell By,” “Isn’t It Romantic,” and “Someone Great.” She appeared on TV in “Tales of the City” and “First Wives Club,” and began hosting “Adulting,” a podcast on WNYC. In 2020, Buteau began hosting Netflix’s reality show “The Circle.” She is also an author, whose book of essays, “Survival of the Thickest,” was published in 2020.

Michelle Buteau will be at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on November 8. Performances like this can benefit if organizers use brochure printing to create programs for the evening.
