Rock and punk bands stop at Hollywood

Two bands that promise to keep things moving are on the way to Hollywood.

Alabama Shakes and Shannon and the Clams are on tour and will be stopping at the Hollywood Bowl.

Alabama Shakes is on their reunion tour. They formed in 2009 in Athens, Alabama, and got their start performing in clubs and bars throughout the Southeast, honing their craft and composing music. They were still not signed to any label when they recorded their debut album, “Boys & Girls.” However, response from those who heard it online led to ATO Records signing them and officially releasing the album in 2012. “Hold On,” a hit single from the album, earned three Grammy nominations.

Their second album, 2015’s “Sound & Color,” debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200, and won three Grammys. They won another Grammy in 2018 for Best American Roots Performance for their version of “Killer Diller Blues.” Critics compare their sound to that of artists like Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and Janis Joplin.

Shannon and the Clams are an indie garage punk band from Oakland, California. The quartet is known for its vintage sound which includes elements from surf, garage psych, classic R&B, and doo-wop. Critics have compared them to the girl groups of the 1960s, as well as Buddy Holly.

The concert is scheduled for August 13 at 8.00 pm. When they plan concerts like this, organizers often use Posters, which they can find at Print shops, to advertise them.
