COIN formed in Nashville in 2012, founded by Joe Memmel, Ryan Winnen, Chase Lawrence, and Zach Dyke. Memmel, Lawrence, and Dyke were at Belmont University where they attended music theory classes together. They decided to try writing their own music, and subsequently recorded four songs at their school, which they released over the Internet free of charge. They began gigging live shows around Nashville, and building a following.
They released two EPs, and launched their album COIN in 2015. Their debut climbed to No. 21 on the Heatseekers chart. They followed that up with the even more successful “How Will You Know If You Never Try,” which made it to the No 2 spot on Heatseekers. Their sixth album, “I’m Not Afraid of Music Anymore,” dropped in 2024, and inspired the name of their current tour.
One critic wrote that the latest album comes after a period of introspection in which it did indeed seem that the band had lost their inspiration. The new work:
“. . .suggests that COIN have unlocked not a new chapter in their existence but an entire new volume, with more depth than they’ve ever shared before.”
COIN: I'm Not Afraid of Tour Anymore will be at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood on February 21. When they organize concerts like this, promoters often use poster printing to advertise them.
