Jazz rock artist coming to Hollywood

A singer/songwriter whose band is like family is coming to Hollywood.

Sammy Rae is the leader of her band, Sammy Rae & The Friends. Originally from Derby, Connecticut, Rae was fortunate to have her parents introduce her to music and the arts when she was a child. By the time she was 12, she knew she wanted to be a songwriter, and she gave her first show when she was 15. She moved to New York City when she was 19, and waited tables while she wrote songs.

She began her career with a residency at Harlem’s famed Cotton Club, and at the same time, she performed regularly at open mic shows, and wrote and recorded her original songs. During this period, she met the musicians who went on to become her bandmates, and released “Sugar,” their first album.

In 2018, as Sammy Rae & The Friends, they released “The Good Life,” an EP, and followed that in 2021 with another EP, “Let’s Throw a Party.” Their camaraderie, which they have built by touring for years, shines through in their exciting live shows. A review says:

“I don’t think there was a single song where the crowd was not singing along and dancing to the music.”

Sammy Rae & The Friends will be at the Hollywood Palladium on October 17. To advertise shows like this, organizers will often contact printers who use poster printing for the task.
