Summer festival offers lots to do
The 6th annual Newark Summerfest is taking place this July for two days. It is a presentation of the Newark Chamber of Commerce.
There is set to be musical entertainment by Daze on the Green, Zydeco on our Mind, the Blues Bottle Band and other local artists, a variety of microbrews to taste, raffles and a farmers' market. A car show to be held on the last day of the festival, hosted by Classic Cruisers USA, will feature vintage and classic cars, and participants will be competing for awards in several categories.
The Kidzone will have lots of activities such as a petting zoo, inflatable castles and slides and pony rides. It will also feature Disney's Doc McStuffins Toy Clinic on Sunday.
There will also be vendors selling food, arts and crafts and general merchandise; community organizations will also be providing information about their products and services.
Visitors from all over, including nearby Fremont, will likely want to attend at least one day of the festival. To make sure more people know about events like this, local print companies often help to distribute advertising materials such as brochures.
The Newark Summerfest is being held at the New Park Mall from July 11 to 12. Admission is free of charge. Contact the Newark Chamber of Commerce at 650-219-1275 for the latest news.
