The Art Freak Studio is hosting a Valentine’s-themed art event in Fremont this February.
The Resistance Valentine Crafting Party and Auction is hosted by Indivisible Fremont and includes supplies, Envelopes and other crafting equipment appropriate for school-aged participants.
An auction of artwork by Diego Marcial Rios will also be part of the events, which requires people to register to sign up, as there are limited openings.
The Valentines being created can express either love or heartbreak, designed for friends and family or teachers and other community members.
Rios’ artwork will also on display at the event, which will auction off the pieces for fundraising.
Crafting events like this may choose to use Print shops to create art templates, instruction sheets and supply lists.
Incorporating woodcuts, masks and paintings, Rios’ work has appeared in hundreds of exhibitions all over the world. He often explores themes of faith, transformation and justice, incorporating ancient myth with modern sensibilities.
As a gallery for contemporary art, Art Freak Studio shows off original works with the aim of touching people, on a visceral level, from a wide variety of different backgrounds. From modern sculptures to audio/visual immersive experiences, the studio features pieces from a variety of media.
The Resistance Valentine Crafting Party and Auction is happening on February 1 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Art Freak Studio at 37819 Niles Blvd in Fremont.
