Fremont’s Coyote Hills Regional Park will be the site of a half-marathon, 10K and 5K this January.
Known for its scenic views of the Bay Area, the Coyote Hills Regional Park is fairly mild in terms of elevation, though there are a multitude of different types of terrain throughout the park, including wooden boardwalks, marshland, and gravel and paved surfaces.
With archeological findings pointing to Native American settlements dating back more than 10,000 years, the park is rich in natural and human history. The Tuibun Ohlon village site, originating from two millennia ago, can be visited with a nature guide to this day.
Dedicated in 1967, the Coyote Hills Regional Park is a popular spot for birding and nature-viewing, as well as cycling, walking, and jogging along its sprawling 1,266 acres. With educational opportunities, camping zones, a butterfly garden and picnic areas, the park attracts visitors from adjacent Northern California communities.
Depending on the length and pace of each participant, the Coyote Hills Regional Park running event may take anywhere from 3 to 4 hours. In addition, there is a hiking option with an earlier start time for those who choose to walk the half-marathon, rather than running it.
Running events like this may choose to use Stationery printers to create running bibs, informational kits or Signs.
The Coyote Hills half-marathon, 10K and 5K is happening on January 31 at 8 am at 9400 Quarry Road in Fremont.
