A local library is offering a free workshop for people who want help repairing their broken items.
Nearly every household has a drawer, closet or room filled with broken belongings. Many of these products were once frequently used appliances, toys or other gear that have a lot of additional potential use. It is not always possible for people to make the repair on their own or find someone crafty enough to do the work, so the Fremont Main Library is now offering a solution.
The Fixit Clinic is designed to help people pair up with coaches and other handy individuals who will work with the merchandise owners to find a solution. This is an opportunity for residents to save the money that would have been spent on replacing a broken item.
Community members can contact the library to find out if their item is on the list of repairable products. Call the information desk at (510) 745-1401 with any questions about the event. Bring broken items to the library located at 2400 Stevenson Boulevard in Fremont between the hours of 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 20 for assistance.
Adults, teens and children with repair knowledge that would like to volunteer their time and have an additional accomplishment to add to their Brochures, or when business card printing, should sign up here.
