It is networking time at the Networking 101 workshop, which will be held in a few days at Silicon Valley Athletic Club located on East Saint James Street and North 3rd Street in San Jose, just 20 minutes from Fremont.
Networking does not come naturally to everyone, and this class will teach participants the skills they need to meet and interact with business and private acquaintances.
The class will be led by Cesar Plata, founder of everyCircle.com. Plata will take participants through the steps of networking and then lead them in role-playing to practice those skills, taking into account that networking is more successful when done with skill.
This class should be especially effective for business owners and sales professionals who need to interact with the public on a daily basis, since networking is vital when trying to obtain grants or funding for business proposals and nonprofit organizations. Networking is made easier when networkers use business card printing to advertise their services.
Tours of the historic Silicon Valley Athletic Club will be available during the event. The club was nearly torn down in the late 1970s and was originally built in 1927 by the Freemasons. It was preserved through the intervention of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce members.
