Locals can enjoy some time in nature during a Mother’s Day Celebration to be held by the San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society.
Fremont children looking for a special way to spend the day with their mom may want to visit the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge Complex this weekend. The organizers have a day of interesting information and events planned, and all are free of charge.
Crafting opportunities make it possible for visitors to create their own gifts for mom, or everyone can take part in the games that will be ongoing throughout the event. Join in on one (or both) of the two scheduled nature walks that take place at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. There will also be two presentations by the Sulphur Creek Nature Center with live birds. There are only 50 seats available for each show, so early arrival is encouraged.
The refuge offers plenty of places for a peaceful picnic, or to just sit back and enjoy the serenity. Nature lovers will have plenty of photo opportunities for their poster printing. The eggs have hatched, so there is plenty of activity for birdwatchers.
The event takes place tomorrow, May 12, from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm at 1751 Grand Boulevard in Fremont. The bird shows are scheduled for 11:15 am and 1:00 pm. There is no charge for the event, but registration is recommended and available on the Eventbrite website. The San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society asks that people help to conserve by not printing their tickets.
