One of the biggest shopping malls in Fremont could be scheduled to get some major changes implemented.
The mall is called Fremont Hub. It is home to stores for many big brands such as Target, Ross, and Trader Joe’s. The proposed development plan aims to bring down a section of the mall and replace it with a parking garage, housing units, and a retail building. Brochure printing can be used to illustrate and share the details of such plans. The mall is owned by Kimco Realty Corp.
Pending approval from the city council, the owners intend to bring down a 70,000-square-foot section of the mall in the northeast corner. Kimco wants to use the space to put up 27,000 square feet of retail spaces, 314 apartments, and a parking garage with spots for 442 cars. The section of the mall that will be brought down currently houses a Staples store, a CVS store, and several other retail outlets and restaurants.
Kimco would like to complete the construction in two phases. Phase one would concentrate on building a 13,000-square-foot new building, which CVS would move into. In phase two, the existing building will be brought down and replaced with a seven-story structure for apartments with spaces for retail outlets on the ground floor. The parking garage will also be completed in phase two.
The renovation plans were submitted to the city on June 16th, and it may be some time before the city grants its approval.
