Stormtroopers, Snoopy, and Santa are all expected to be in attendance for a popular annual holiday parade in Fremont.
Residents can join their friends and neighbors for the Niles Merchants Association annual holiday parade this November. The event includes a live DJ, over 60 floats, and a unique mix of participants in the parade. Included will be fire engines and tractors, tap dancing, Christmas trees, and bikers.
The Niles Festival of Lights Parade began in 2001 and is known as the official kickoff to the Christmas season for the Fremont area. Approximately 10,000 spectators have attended past events and the organizers expect a crowd of around 15,000 this year. The parade follows the community tree lighting ceremony at Niles Town Plaza.
Businesses that wish to sponsor the parade still have time for banner printing. The parade committee offers a variety of sponsorship levels that includes displays of sponsor Banners in the parade and around the area on the night of the event, as well as recognition of the company in the media. The parade will take place on November 23 and there is no fee to attend. The tree lighting will occur at 6:00 pm and the parade sets out at 6:30 pm. The parade will travel down Niles Boulevard in Fremont.
