Fremont helps local businesses explore social media

The Fremont Chamber of Commerce is preparing to give businesses in the area a leg up in the realm of social media.

The ‘Advanced Social Media for Your Business Forum’ is a short evening seminar series aimed at educating entrepreneurs on the uses of internet platforms to increase brand presence.

The event is intended for local businesses who are not currently taking advantage of sites such as Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn as part of their current marketing services. Increasingly, these platforms are being used to help connect small restaurants and shops more directly with their customer base. The seminars will cover how to increase their visibility by effectively using these sites.

The series is divided over two sessions and four workshops, each themed after one major social media platform. The forum leaders will show off the capabilities of the service and the best practices when using them for businesses. Attendees will spend up to an hour on each, and are encouraged to bring an internet capable device so that they can work with the sites while their capabilities are demonstrated.

The seminar will be held on April 18 from 6:30 pm to 8:45 pm at the Fukaya Room of the Fremont Library, located at 2400 Stevenson Blvd. Attendance is free, but space is limited. Anyone interested should contact the library directly or go to the website to reserve a place.
