Pet enthusiasts in the Fremont area are bounding with excitement over the 19th Annual Niles Dog Show. The event combines competition, shopping, demonstrations and more.
The heart of the event is the dog show, which is a fun mix of competition and whimsy. Rather than judging dogs based on a breed or size category, the dogs will be awarded prizes based on fun categories like best costume, best dog/human resemblance, prettiest female and handsomest male, and most unusual mix. A first-place ribbon will also be awarded to the best in show overall.
In addition to the competition, a small expo will be set up with lots of canine related businesses. Visitors can get informational Brochures from local veterinary clinics, pick up free goodies from pet stores, look for a new furry friend at the rescue shelter booths, or watch a K-9 or frisbee demonstration. Bounce houses will also be set up for children and the show will also feature a prize raffle and a pancake breakfast.
The Niles Dog Show will be held on July 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Niles Community Park, located on the corner of 3rd St and H St. Admission to the event is free to the public. Anyone looking for more info or wanting to register a dog should visit the website.
