Celebrated Italian singer to perform near Fremont
Andrea Bocelli, a popular and successful Italian singer and instrumentalist will be performing near Fremont this June. The concert will take place at the SAP Center in San Jose.
Bocelli, now 63, has had an interest in music since he was young. He learned multiple instruments as a boy, including the flute, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, drums, and guitar. He won his first singing competition at age 14 at the Margherita d'Oro in Viareggio. From there, Bocelli became a court judge until starting his career in 1992.
He then won the 44th Sanremo Music Festival in 1994 and had the highest marks ever recorded in the newcomers section. He went on to create 18 albums and nine operas, which in total sold over 75 million records worldwide.
His song “Con Te Partiró” is one of the best-selling singles of all time, while his album “Sacred Arias” is the most sold solo artist classical album even. His 2018 album “Sí” debuted at number one on both the UK Albums chart and the US Billboard 200, while his most recent album, 2020’s “Believe,” topped the US Top Classical Albums Chart.
