Fun run kicks off in Covina

Covina is hosting an annual fun run this April.

Hosted by District Field Covina, participants of all ages are welcome to join, with scalable distance options depending on experience level.

With an overall goal of spreading the message of healthy habits to others, the outdoor event is open to both families and top-performing athletes.

In addition, there is a charity element to the race, as profits will be going to a variety of different community programs helping veterans, as well as mini-grants for teachers and children. It is help in partnership with the Covina Rotary Club, an organization that has participated in community engagement since its inception in 1923.

The race is open to those who wish to walk or run, or non-runners who simply want to donate to the cause. Adults have the option of booking a 5K run or a one-mile run for $25 each. The child runs also include either 5K or one mile, but the price is only $20. All ticket options come with a complimentary T-shirt to commemorate the occasion.

There are also other running events being held around California throughout the summer, including in Silverado, Canoga Park and San Bernardino. Athletic events like this may choose to use Print shops to create running bibs and trail maps.

The Covina Fun Run XXIX is happening on Saturday, April 25 at 8:30 am at 220 W Puente St in Covina.
