Tree Lighting to illuminate Covina

The City of Covina is once again hosting the Tree Lighting Festival, ushering in the holiday season this November.

The festival will begin with the tree lighting ceremony in the early evening at Heritage Plaza. Then a number of other activities will be available for family-friendly entertainment.

The annual event, which has been going strong for over three decades, is sponsored this year by the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum, the West Covina Chick-fil-A and Covina Downtown.

The Covina Farmers Market will once again be in full swing during the event, offering food and early Christmas shopping opportunities. That includes glow sticks, hot cocoa and coffee, among other amenities and local food vendors.

Free children’s activities following the lighting ceremony include horse-drawn wagon rides, a photo opportunity with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, Christmas-themed craft-making, writing letters to Santa, holiday entertainment, a hot chocolate booth, a cookie booth run by Mrs. Claus herself and children’s train rides.

The Tree Lighting Festival coincides with other holiday events around Covina, including the Christmas Parade, which has been held annually for over 70 years.

Holiday festivals like this may choose to use printing services for creating decorations, craft templates and activity instructions.

The Tree Lighting Festival is happening on November 21 at 6 p.m. in downtown Covina on Citrus Avenue between San Bernardino Road and Badillo Street.
