The IKEA store in Covina is hosting a Valentine’s-themed cooking class for children this February.
Heart-shaped sandwiches will be the focus of the event, which also includes lessons about learning shapes.
The Kids Cooking Class: Little Whisk Takers - Sweet Connections Edition is aimed at children aged 4 to 7.
Featuring child-friendly ingredients, the class takes inspiration from IKEA’s grocery offerings and cooking equipment for sale.
With an overall theme of connecting with others and celebrating creativity, the class requires a parent or guardian with an IKEA Family membership to be in attendance and on time.
Lessons during the cooking class include being careful with food preparation, sharing meals, and basics like assembling, layering and spreading ingredients.
IKEA hosts free Little Whisk Takers cooking classes for children on a monthly basis at its stores all over the country. With a focus on creating healthier eating habits and an eye for sustainability, IKEA offers a variety of products to take the cooking lessons home, including aprons for children, safety accessories for chopping, step stools for accessing counter-tops, cookware and storage Boxes.
Cooking classes like this may choose to use Stationery printers to create recipe cards, ingredient lists and instruction sheets.
The Little Whisk Takers: IKEA Kids Cooking Club is happening on February 7 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at 848 S Barranca Ave in Covina.
