Residents of Carson are invited to participate in a day dedicated to wellness at the Carson Community Health Fair this February. It is being organized by the Asian Pacific Health Corps (APHC) at UCLA.
APHC, established in 1980 focuses on addressing health disparities in underserved Pacific and Asian islander communities. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services to include education and screenings to reduce risks associated with heart disease and cancer, which are two major contributors to death among these populations.
This health fair initiative aims to empower participants to take proactive steps toward improving their well-being. It also aims to connect them with health resources available locally.
The health fair is staffed by UCLA alumni volunteers, who bring enthusiasm and a commitment to service. Attendees will have access to blood pressure Checks, educational sessions on nutrition, body mass index assessments, hypertension evaluations, and tailored health education workshops. The event also serves as a platform for building relationships between healthcare providers and community members.

The health fair will occur on Saturday, February 1st, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Carson Event Center, 801 Carson St, Carson, California. Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to spread the news to ensure the event reaches those who can benefit most.
