Artists, designers and creative enthusiasts will have an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of risograph printmaking during an introductory class in Carson.
Led by instructors Jun Ha and Dave Bow, the hands-on class is designed to teach participants how to produce colorful, limited-edition prints.
The session is intended for beginners interested in creating artwork, Books and zines while gaining practical experience with specialized equipment.
Participants will receive instruction on preparing images for production, replacing color drums, aligning multiple Print layers and operating the museum's SF5130 single-drum risograph duplicator. The workshop will also explore how vegetable oil-based inks create vibrant colors and distinctive textures that differ from traditional digital printing methods.
All materials are included with registration, attendees are encouraged to bring several black-and-white photographs measuring 5 by 7 inches or smaller to incorporate into original collage-inspired designs. By the conclusion of the class, each participant will produce a limited edition of 15 two-color risograph prints measuring 8.5 by 11 inches.
General Admission is priced at $108.55 per participant. Refunds are available up to two weeks before the workshop in accordance with organizer policies. The course lasts approximately three and one-half hours and provides an immersive learning experience for individuals interested in printmaking and self-publishing.
