Mixed-media printing workshop planned at Carson museum

The International Printing Museum in Carson will host a hands-on art session this summer centered on monoprinting and collage techniques.

The “Gelláge Workshop,” led by artist Graham Moore, is designed to introduce participants to layered printmaking methods that combine texture, color, and mixed-media composition.

During the workshop, attendees will experiment with Gelli plate printing, a process that creates one-of-a-kind impressions using soft printing plates and a variety of textured materials. Participants will work with tools such as stencils, Stamps, and unconventional objects to produce patterned prints with multiple layers and visual depth. Once completed, the printed pieces will be incorporated into collage artwork developed during the second portion of the class.

The hosting venue, the International Printing Museum, is known for preserving historic printing equipment and offering educational programming related to graphic design and traditional press techniques.

Admission for the workshop is priced at $124.56, which includes a base ticket cost of $115 and an additional $9.56 in fees. Refunds are available up to two weeks before the event date. All supplies needed for the session will be included with admission. Community arts programs and museum workshops frequently partner with local Print shops and promotional services to help advertise creative events and attract new participants.

The Gelláge Workshop will take place on Sunday, July 12 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the International Printing Museum, 315 W. Torrance Blvd, Carson.
