Carson to present huge back-to-school bash

An event that may help to take the sting out of heading back to school is on the agenda for Carson, and the planners are hoping there will be a big turnout for the occasion.

The first Mother's Desk Back to School Fair is in the works for this upcoming August, and everyone is invited to drop by and help make it a big success. It is scheduled for 857 Sandhill Avenue, and it will have lots to offer all of the families in attendance.

All attending families will receive a box of free school supplies for as long as they last, and they will be packaged according to grade level. There will also be presentations that cover topics such as preparing for post-secondary education and community college choices, and a professional photographer will be on hand to take portraits of the scholars. A sitting fee of $50 is being charged, and a cap and gown will be available for graduates to use in their pictures.

Community events often depend on the generosity of an area’s corporate community. Information packages for potential sponsors may be supplied by area brochure printing companies.

The first ever Mother’s Desk Back to School Fair will be welcoming students and their families on August 13. The fun will kick off at 10:00 am.
